I hope you all had a great Christmas. Please be careful as you travel tonight. A Happy New Year to everyone.

Saturday night was the beginning of a new series on SPIRITUAL WARFARE. Regardless of what battle you face in life, it's important to understand that we do not battle alone. We must be alert and ready at all times. Our enemy who is Satan or the devil or whatever else you want to call him, is always looking for ways to steal, kill, and destroy our lives. The greatest weapons we have in our arsenal are prayer and the Word of God. If we don't know how to use these weapons we're not properly prepared for the fight of faith. I want to assure you however that if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, you can overcome the trials in this present life.

As we surround this topic over the next few months keep these things in mind:

The Battle belongs to the Lord

There is pain in the preparation

Whether spiritual, physical, or financial, we can be more than conquerors.

P.S. I'm told I need to write about fun stuff to. Because really I'm not as serious as I appear to be. We went on a fun plane ride to Washington D.C. We went on a lot of fun long walks that didn't hurt my feet at all. We took a bunch of fun pictures that I don't currently have to show you, and since I've been home I've basically studied and studied all kinds of fun material to get my bus drivers license. I plan on having a fun last day of 2008.

God Bless You & Have A Fun New Years!!

CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

Proverbs 31 has a lot to say about women. How fitting that the book ends with a picture of a woman of great wisdom, many skills, and great compassion. As you tread through this chapter you see all kinds of traits that make this woman very attractive. She has accomplished so much, maybe more than you could ever see yourself accomplishing. It would surprise us however that her appearance is never mentioned. See what makes this women truly beautiful, is her character.

The book of Proverbs begins with the command to fear the Lord, and it ends with someone fulfilling this command. If all of us will take this woman's qualities and combine them with an awe inspiring view of God, it will lead to a life filled with joy, honor, success, and self worth.

CHAPTER THIRTY

This Proverb was written by Agur. The origin of these sayings is not clear. Nothing is known about Agur except that he was a wise teacher who may have come from Lemuel's kingdom. Lemuel penned the sayings in Proverbs 31. Little is known about Lemuel as well, except that he was a king who received wise teachings from his mother. His name means "devoted to God." Some believe both Agur and Lemuel were both from the kingdom of Massa in northern Arabia.

Right out of the gate Agur shows us his true emotions and thoughts. Haven't we all said this a time or two. I am weary, O God; I am weary and worn out, O God. When it comes to life in general I don't feel like I know anything! What's going on? How did I get here. If there was ever a good time to do it, beam me up Scotty. The reality is that as small as we are and as overwhelming as life gets sometimes, God cares. If we will just trust Him and listen, He will protect us and lead us down the right path.

Agur begs God for two things. (1) Never tell a lie. (2) Don't give me riches and don't give me poverty. Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. He says in verse 9, if I grow rich I may deny you and if I am poor I might steel. Either way we do not honor the Holy One. By falling into the first category, telling lies, we do not imitate our Father in heaven, we imitate Satan the father of lies. A life built on lies is really a funnel aimed straight toward hell. At the top of the funnel there is all kinds of room to move, but slowly you slide into a narrow tunnel that takes you and spits you out. O that we would just do it God's way. Save yourself some heartache and let the master lead and guide you.

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

Verse 18: When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful. What exactly is divine guidance? "Divine guidance" refers to words from God received by prophets. Where there is ignorance or rejection of God, crime and sin run rampant. Public morality depends on the knowledge of God, but it also depends on keeping God's laws. In order for nations and individuals to function well, people must know God's ways and keep his rules. Having God's Word means little if we are not obeying it.

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

To be heard or not to be heard, that is the question? Verse 9 says that God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law. If you plan on going right back to hang out with your sin the moment you get off your knees, the likely hood that your prayers are going to land anywhere but the trash can are highly unlikely. When we walk away from our sin and follow Christ, He willingly listens to us. In fact what closes His ears is not the depth of our sin, it's our secret desire to do it again. It's important to remember that God hears our intents as clearly as He hears our words.

Don't let anything hinder your prayer life with the Creator of the Universe. If there was ever anyone you need to listen to you, it's Him. Examine your heart and let God cleanse it.

Well, I was doing pretty good and then I fell off the blog wagon.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

Verses 1 & 2 basically state that it's way better for you to receive praise from others. It's just not cool or biblical to praise yourself.

What is cool, at least after it's hot, is iron sharpening iron. Verse 17: As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Sometimes when we are being honest enough to help each other through life, a little heat from the friction takes place. God has put friends in our lives to make us better. When we are the only ones looking at ourselves, we tend to pass over the things we don't want to admit are there. When our voice of motivation is the only voice available, we can't argue with, "Lets put it off until tomorrow."

Accountability is key. Find it and unlock your potential.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Again this chapter has a lot to say about the foolish. What's the bottom line? We spend way more time than we should helping those who either don't want to be helped, or say they want help but don't want to listen. All must make an effort to help those who want to be helped. Who would love to spend time with you but doesn't get the chance? Take it from there.

Verse 13: The lazy person claims, "There's a lion on the road! Yes, I'm sure there's a lion out there!" If a person is not willing to work, he or she can find endless excuses to avoid it. But laziness is more dangerous than a prowling lion. The less you do, the less you want to do, and the more useless you become. To keep your excuses from making you useless, stop making useless excuses. If this doesn't apply to you than pray for those you know that it does apply to.

Have a God filled day.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

Verse 26: If the godly give in to the wicked, it's like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring. When a person comes to know Christ in a personal way it has far reaching impacts on the people around them. Likewise, when a believer turns away from God and rejects His love or chooses to give in to sin, it can cause great confusion for those who are influenced by that person. In this kind of situation not only is disaster flirted with personally, but the blood of those lead astray covers the hands of those leading.

Sin has many consequences. Satan never intends to take one person out, he tries to use one person to carry a virus to many. Don't fall for the trick. Stay alert, for Satan roams to and fro seeking whom he may devour.

I know this one doesn't feel as good as the others, never-the-less it's necessary to hear every now and then.

Smile, God loves you.

Sunday, October 26, 2008

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

Verse 16: The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overcome the wicked.

No matter how many times you trip and fall or just plain get knocked over.....

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you!!!

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

In John 12:31 Jesus refers to Satan as the ruler of this world. Paul said in Ephesians 6:12 that we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world. As I read verse 1 of this chapter in Proverbs it is apparent that on a regular basis, the ruler of this world sets very enticing plates before us. Lets be real, most food items that people consider to be delicacies carry a high price tag but taste horrible. In fact sometimes it doesn't even make sense that people would even eat things that are as gross as they are. What's the point? We sometimes leave the table of the King of Kings to dine at Satan's table (the ruler of this world), because he offers what seemingly is a high priced delicacy. Even though we are in this world, we are not to be of this world. Satan will continually entice you to indulge yourself. The unfortunate reality is you will pay a high price for something that looked good but had a horrible aftertaste.

I would encourage you to let Jesus make the recommendations off of life's menu. You will never be disappointed.

Bon Appetite,

PB

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

A couple verses in this chapter address raising children. The key here is consistant example. Rules without relationship breed rebellion, rules with relationship breed obedience. It is important to discipline, but even more important to be disciplined in our discipline. What are the things you would tell your children not to do. If it's ok for you it will be ok for them. In fact children will generally take to the next level that which is modeled for them (good or bad).

Sometimes parents send their kids to church even when they don't attend themselves. When those children become adults there is a good possibility that they will stop attending unless they have obtained a personal relationship with Christ. Equally as troubling is when parents ground they're children from church. Church should be fun, but that's not the reason we go to church. We go to church to encounter God and hopefully obtain wisdom. If your going to ground a child, ground them from something they don't desperately need but they want. Maybe we make some decisions because unconsciously we don't see the real value ourselves.

If you are a parent you have a great task and responsibility. You will, I repeat will mess up sometimes. You will also make some great choices. The best you can do is gain wisdom yourself and ask God to help you every step of the way.

See or blog you tomorrow,

PB

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Verse 5: Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty. As we prepare to make our 2009 goals together, this verse is the perfect lead in. Planning what your spiritual growth will be will cause you to be Spiritually prosperous. You cannot shortcut your walk with Christ. He surely didn't short cut the redemption process.

I recently purchased some desert land in the SW part of the US. I will be going to spend some time there on a sabbatical, due to the fact that Solomon said it was better that way. It pretty much has to do with that quarrelsome , complaining wife thing.

Tomorrow Then,

CHAPTER TWENTY

For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. The reality is that all continue to sin and are in constant need of the Savior. Verse 9: Who can say, "I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin"? I'm sure at some point and time we have all thought that our sin was to great for Jesus to forgive. God's mad at me and probably always will be. How could He really love me? Let me put it to you this way. If God didn't intend on forgiving you, He would have never sent His Son to die for you. He wants to forgive us because He longs to fellowship with us. A best friend is generally someone that you connect with on several levels. Sometimes I think about the scripture that says be ye perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect. How can I connect with a perfect God when I know that in my flesh I am almost always imperfect? It dawned on me that the only times I walk in perfection are the moments that I spend in repentance. It is in my confession that I find my perfection. Maybe that's why King David was called a man after God's own heart. It obviously wasn't that he never made mistakes, it was that he was quick to repent. David said, "create in my a clean heart oh God, and renew a right spirit within me." In those incredible miraculous moments that I am receiving God's forgiveness through Christ Jesus, I am literally in a state of perfection. There is no interference in my connection to the creator. I can receive incredible insight from God because there is a perfect signal. When repentance and confession are over however, sin begins to slowly creep back into my life.

It is not realistic that you can confess and repent 24/7. The issue is you having an attitude of repentance, that when you do mess up you are quick to make things right with the friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Good night to all,

Pastor Brett

CHAPTER NINETEEN

It's easy to make a move to quickly. Verse 2 says enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; hast makes mistakes. You will make many decisions in life. So you might as well take your time. Making a fast decision that ends up being the wrong one will cost you more time than you want to give. People hurry into all kinds of things (marriage, jobs, drugs, alcohol, etc..), never thinking about the long term consequences. It's never about the moment, there is always more at stake. Even salvation isn't about the moment, it's about eternity. Believe it or not, everyday people make a quick decision to follow Christ because they are swept up in emotion. Following Christ is not for the faint at heart. If you don't take it seriously, the people you know won't either. We need to be enthusiastic about our faith, but more than that we need to be informed and led by the Holy Spirit. If you have ever played a strategy game, you understand that every move you make counts. Life is one big strategy game. If you don't think about what you are doing you will be set back. The trump card however is Christ. No matter what we face, no matter what the odds are, Jesus defeated death so in Jesus you can conquer life.

So if every decision is well thought out and calculated, where is the faith? If you are on a path that you know is the right path and it has hurdles, do you quit? NO!! You enthusiastically run to the finish line. But in between the finish and the beginning, their will be several leaps of faith. God will help you land on your feet again, you just keep running. You can and will finish, and you will impact people around you. Stay enthusiastic, but be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Together Experiencing A Ministry.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Verses 10 & 14. Sickness is never fun. The strength of your spirit however will determine the effects of the sickness. If I have no inner strength, the sniffles can bum me out. When my spirit is sheltered by the strong tower who is Christ Jesus, nothing I face is enough to bring me down. I am in Christ, Christ is in me, victory is mine. Victory over pain, depression, fear, or any attack on my life. Together you and God make a majority, no not really you, but your alignment with God. If God is for me who can be against me.

Verse 15 says that intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge. Is it true that God can bless people at will? Sure it is. However, I also believe that preparation + opportunity = blessing. The more you know, the more you can capitalize on opportunity. Then where is God's blessing? His blessing came by giving you the opportunity. Many people miss out because they do not prepare. I assure you that not everything in life is going to be handed to you on a silver platter. In fact most things you will have to work for. The more knowledge you possess, the more opportunities you can capitalize on. Where does true knowledge lie? It is from God. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

I do not believe in the name it claim it gospel. If it brings glory to God and helps to impact the kingdom, I believe that I can ask in the name of Jesus, and what I ask for I will receive. Never forget however that verse 21 says the tongue can bring death or life. There is power in what you say, so choose your words carefully. It is within your ability to speak blessings instead of cursing. When you speak blessings you align yourself with God, and remember you will reap that which you sow.

Good Evening

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

So immediately I'm drawn to verse 9. Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. Essentially every time forgiveness is paid out your capacity to love is enlarged. You make deposits into your spiritual bank account. When Jesus died on the cross, forgiveness was given to all. His love had no boundaries. If we are to follow the way of the Master, we must get comfortable with forgiveness regardless of how painful it is. Forgiveness came with a large price tag, unforgiveness will cost you even more.

There is an old song that says this: (What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grieves to bear. What a priviledge to carry, everything to God in prayer). Some say you will be lucky if you have more than two real friends in a lifetime. Verse 17 says that a friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need. What makes us family is simple, the blood of Jesus. We are bound together by that one common denominator. I haven't heard the phrase in a long time, but when I was a kid being blood brothers was pretty common. It's interesting that in order to become blood brothers, two guys would pierce their hands and then bind them together. This simple pact would cause them to become brothers for life. I wonder if anyone ever saw the similarities to the nail pierced hands of Jesus producing the precious blood that would not only cleanse us but also unite us. Truly we are to be blood brothers and sisters. We should be ready to help at all times and hopefully we will eventually understand what loyalty really means. If you think you don't have any friends, just remember Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. You're not alone.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Verse 1: We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. You can plan your whole life, but it's much more profitable to come into line with God's plans. What do you invest your time into? In today's uncertain times, the only thing that you are certain to get a return on is your investment into the Kingdom. Oh how I want the King to smile on me. If I have His favor, what else do I need? Verse 25 says that there is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. Remember, you can learn the hard way or you can learn the really hard way. Life was never promised to be easy, but it can be easier than we make it.

If I have to succumb to gray hair, I would rather know that it came from a good long Godly life and not a whole lot stress, worry, and fear. Verse 33: We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall. Lord give me a 7.

PB
CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Verse 3: The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good. You can run but you can not hide. So you might as well not run. God sees us no matter where we are. God also has our very best interest in mind. All are subject to sin, in fact all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. So why is it that our knee jerk reaction is to run away from the very one that can set us free. Never again run away. Run too, run too, run too the cross.

So at the half way point how hungry are you. No not for food, for knowledge. Verse 14 says that a wise person is hungry for knowledge. It takes sharpening to have an edge. Spirit, Family, Body, Mind, and Business. Sharpen each of these and life will become far less challenging and far more prosperous.

Don't be lazy and plan on difficulties. Don't wait for criticism, look for advisers. And above all else, yeah you got it, fear the Lord for it is the beginning of Wisdom.

Thursday, October 16, 2008

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Verse 7: Stay away from fools, for you won't find knowledge on their lips. OK so what are the signs that your in the presence of a fool you should be staying away from. Several clues are given to us in this chapter. Fools deceive themselves. Everyone else can see the problem except for the fool. Short-tempered people do foolish things, so you might say fools are probably short-tempered. They make fun of guilt, instead of acknowledging it and seeking reconciliation. A fools paycheck is foolishness. Their financial future is never looking up. And the scariest characteristic of them all is found in verse 33. Wisdom is not found among fools. Which means fools do not fear the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I don't know about you, but I would be a little nervous hanging around someone who doesn't fear the Lord. If there is lighting action going on, I want to be far from it. If you know someone who's resume is similar to that which has been described, give them some loving advice. Tell them to quit, their life depends on it. Your life is to important to consume it with those who do not wish to change their foolish ways.

Get Wisdom,

Pastor B
CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Control the tongue, control the tongue, control the tongue and control the tongue. Words can destroy and words can bring life. Words can trap you and words can free you. Think before you speak. Allow the Holy Spirit to control your tongue and what you say will be a blessing. Similar to verse 3 is verse 16. Wise people think before they act. Somewhere along the line we learned that every action has a reaction. If we give love we get love. What we sow we reap. It's so important to take a little extra time whenever we speak or take action. If we want to minimize regrets, we must maximize restraint.

Let us lead by example and leave a lasting legacy.

CHAPTER TWELVE

One of my personal favorite verses. He who loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid. Now when we are in the mode of being disciplined that's great, but when we are rebelling against discipline, and we all have, it hurts a little bit. How much could we really learn if we only engaged ourselves. We only use a portion of our brain power. If we would only be disciplined, our world would be an entirely different place. Those who employ knowledge correctly can change environments completely. If each individual would care for what surrounds them, the world would be prosperous beyond imagination. Maybe a little like heaven on earth. That's it, this is the dress rehearsal, and heaven is the final act. You know, sometimes even a dress rehearsal is fun to watch when taken seriously. Don't down play your role. Let's work hard and become the leaders God intended for us to be. Honestly I don't know how we can claim to be children of God and not be leaders. If we have been grafted into the vine, we now have access to Gods DNA. I don't see any poor leadership there.
CHAPTER ELEVEN

Peace be with you and may the Holy Spirit reveal to you all truth.

Let's start with verse 4. Nothing physically obtained in this life can prepare you for the next one. Oh yes, believe it!! There will be another life, the difference is the length of time. This life is a vapor, ending seemingly as fast as it begins. During these brief moments you can choose however to live life right. When we stand before God, there will be nobody else to point to for our choices. We will be held accountable for all we have done, good or bad. Reduce your regrets. Yeah, everyone wishes they could have made better choices somewhere along the way. Don't keep looking in the rear view mirror, keep your eyes on what lies ahead and you'll avoid another crash. Besides, you miss a lot of beautiful things looking backwards all the time.

What should our goal be? Love God and love people. How cool will it be when we as a church have enough influence on our city that it begins to prosper because of God's blessing through His people. Each of us should pray for God's wisdom and that He would use us as leaders in a country so desperate for good leadership. The bottom line is be kind, give freely, and search for good. In the end you will be rewarded more than you can fathom.

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

CHAPTER TEN

Do you have the ability to work and make money? Verse 5 says a youth harvests in the summer but one who sleeps during the harvest is a disgrace. Each day has 24 hours. Are you being productive or wasting your time away. Remember, you can't get time back. Refuse to be a lazy person sleeping your productive hours away. There will come a day when you won't be able to be as productive. Don't expect others to pick up your slack and pay your way when you didn't do your part. Step up to the plate. Git'er Done!

Overall, Chapter 10 addressed the blessing attached to the Godly. Here is a list:

The Godly are a life giving fountain
The Godly are able to use financial earnings or gain to enhance their lives
The words of the Godly are use to encourage others
The hopes of the Godly will be granted
Those that are Godly leave happy memories for those around them
The Godly have a lasting foundation

The opposite is true for those who don't live a Godly life. How do you want to be remembered?
CHAPTER NINE

Time to get caught up. Internet issues addressed and no longer sleep deprived.

At some point in time you have to make a decision to grow. Leave behind simple ways and really begin to live. We must use good judgement, use common sense and utilize the mind that God gave us to the fullest extent possible. If however your not ready to do that, unfortunately no one can force you. If your ready, there is instruction available and wisdom in abundance.

What does your foundation look like? Is it solid or are there imperfections that could cause a collapse? First ask yourself if God was a priority in your formative years. If not, you may need to go back and examine your life. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal danger areas and then ask for healing. The more knowledge you have of the Saving Creator Jesus Christ, the more stable your life will be.

DAY EIGHT

Good evening to all of you. Here we are in Atlanta, GA. Even though it rained most of our trip, it was fairly smooth and easy. We will be starting our morning at about 5:oo am in order to beat the traffic and to check in on time. Our first seminar starts at 8:30 with Andy Stanley who is one of my favorite authors and the Pastor of North Point in Atlanta. So considering it's almost mid-night our time I'll get to the point quickly tonight.

Those who have put their stock (no pun intended, well at first it wasn't intended), in riches can quickly find out riches can leave as fast as they come. For the second time in this book it is established that nothing compares to God's instruction. His wisdom gained is nothing lost.

Verse 17 shares the benefits that are found when we search out the wisdom of God. How great would it be if all of our treasuries were full. I bet Washington and Wall Street would like that right about now. Of course if we would turn to God instead of running away from God we might continue to be a blessed nation. It does seem however that we tend to run back to God in times of crisis. Anyway their is a lot more blessings available we just need to search for wisdom and then we will find those blessings. This leads me to my final thought for the evening.

I am now calling all House Reps to become WISDOM PAPARAZZI. Verses 32-35 clarify this somewhat weird new concept of mine. "And so my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways our joyful. Listen to my instruction and be wise. Don't ignore it. Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home! For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord." Think about it for a moment and it will make sense. I must now convince myself to get to sleep before I have to wake up. I'm running out of time.

I Love You All

CHAPTER SEVEN,

There is one major theme here. Men don't set yourself up to fall into temptation. Satan is very crafty. He knows that a woman can be a very big temptation for a man. Again, I must reiterate that within the bounds of marriage a relationship between husband and wife can and should be fulfilling. True fulfilment however is not just sexual. If you build a relationship on physical attributes alone, when that excitement wears out there will be nothing to hold the relationship together. All you ladies out there need to keep in mind that it takes two to tango. You can also be enticed and make a decision you will regret later.

So how do we overcome a potential disastrous situation. First, guard your mind. Don't do things that encourage fantasies that stimulate wrong desires. Second, keep away from places and people that tempt you into sin. Third, don't think just about the moment. You must always focus on the future. The Bible even declares that sin is fun for a season. The problem comes when the season ends. Generally you will be left in ruins. If you don't flee when you have the opportunity, chances are highly likely that you will give into temptation. On second thought don't, don't run. Satan's counting on ruining your life. Go for it. Let him steal your future. No instead get yourself out of sin city. Eternity is a long time. Greater is He that is in you than he that's in the world. With the help of the Holy Spirit you can and will overcome all temptations.

CHAPTER SIX

Tonight is a good time to reflect on the potential financial meltdown that is coming. Verses 1-4 sum it up pretty good. All are subject to financial mistakes, but repeated mistakes may mean you need to go back to school or at least the school of council and find out where you are making those mistakes. Trust the Lord with your tithe. All your heart, everything. Work as hard as you can right now leaving time for God and family, and you will be ready for whatever comes you way.

Verses 16-19 basically tell the story. Things probably not to do. Seven things that are detestable to the Lord. Haughty eyes, A lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil. Feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who sows discord in a family. Yep, you guessed it. Probably should stay away from this here stuff. Aright, I'm out for the night. Taking of in 4 hours to Atlanta, GA. Gotta get some sleep. Love you all and I will update from the road.

CHAPTER FIVE

Great to see everyone this weekend. I hope your week is awesome. Here we go.

When life is over, it will be to late to ask for advice. When desire is fully activated, people generally don't want advice--they want satisfaction. Although chapter 5 addresses men, it's important for everyone to understand that sexual sin has a lot of different consequences. Satan will try to entice us with every kind of desire. He knows each of us individually. His purpose is to steal from us, kill us, and destroy us if possible. Sexual sin is extremely dangerous because it destroys family life, it destroys your ability to love, it turns people into objects, leads to disease, and can result in children that will then suffer because of an adults mistake. If at all possible, don't let hind sight be 20/20 when it comes to this subject. God intended for us to have satisfying relationships within the bounds of marriage. It is wonderful to love and be loved. Protect this gift. Wait for the one who God has for you.

God made you. He knows the desires of your heart. He understands what true love is. If you will trust Him with your relationships and not get in a hurry, there will be long term satisfaction. Outside of your personal relationship with Christ, the spouse you choose will be the biggest decision of your life. Let's turn the ship around. Let's help the divorce and separation rate in our world shrink.

Blessings,

DAY FOUR, CHAPTER FOUR

How awesome is it when in the morning light breaks through the darkness. I love to go camping and experience the sun as it gently wakes you up. An alarm clock, no way. As we learn to walk in righteousness, we see more clearly as the light of God burns away the fog of life. How scary is it to be in total darkness. Not knowing what your next step holds. The darkness we should fear however is spiritual darkness. Even those that are physically blind can live in the light. An assurance that every step they take is ordered by the Lord.

Verse 21 says not to lose sight of God's words. We need to always keep the truth near by. The best way to do that is to lodge it deep into our hearts, replacing emptiness with fulfillment. God's interest is never in healing just a part of you. He sent his son Jesus to die that you could experience complete healing.

So as verse 23 says, guard your heart for it determines the course of your life. Don't allow Satan to use anything to get you sidetracked. Understand that he wants to destroy your life and will use anything to accomplish that. If the Word consumes your heart, there will be no room for any attack. You will be able to declared NO VACANCY, FULL HOUSE.

What we put in our minds and our hearts will eventually work its way out. The old adage is garbage in garbage out. Let's fill our minds with good things. The more we read Gods word, the more we gain wisdom and the more we will have the mind of Christ.

Chapter four ends with this; Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Stay on the safe path. There are some adventures that take you off the main road. God has an amazing adventure for you and you don't need to put your self in danger to live out one of the most incredible journeys you have ever been on. Where He leads me I will follow.

Have a blessed Sunday.

CHAPTER THREE

No skill is perfected without discipline, and when a person has skill he or she has the freedom to create as our Creator creates. Proverbs deals with the most fundamental skill of all: practical righteousness before God in every area of life. This requires knowledge, experience, and the willingness to put God first. This brings me to one of my personal favorite scriptures, Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. The hard part here is the word all. What is hidden deep down in the caverns of our hearts? What are the things that have yet to be revealed, things that we may not fully comprehend about ourselves. Our understanding is so incomplete, yet we try to figure life out instead of letting the Author of life guide us through life. If I depend on me I'll fail, If I depend on others they will fail me, but If I depend on God I will not be disappointed. In the garden before Jesus died, He said "not my will but Yours be done." Because of that unselfish statement I have life eternal. The least I can do is seek His will in all I do. Though the path is a narrow path, If Jesus is on the path with me I will be safe and secure.

Verses 9 & 10 tell us that we should give God our best instead of our leftovers. The trade off is an overflowing abundant life. Enough said!! Why is it that we have such a hard time with this one. Just try it. It comes with an ETERNAL LIFE GUARANTEE. Now enough said!!

Verses 11 & 12 talk a little more about discipline. Discipline means "to teach and to train." Discipline sounds negative, because some that discipline are not loving. God is however the author of love. God knows that in order for us to be morally strong and good, we must know the difference between right and wrong. His loving discipline helps us to do that.

In closing, there is nothing that compares to wisdom. With it we hold the keys to the best of life. Without it we really don't live, we exist. Keep on searching and you will find. God rewards those who diligently seek Him. As we are rewarded and are given much, lets give much. Let's take this gift and use it for the betterment of mankind. When it's within our power, lets do good. I promise you that if we live this thing out according to God's plan we will be blessed. Those who don't.....well keep praying for them, they'll need it.

Have a great and prosperous day tomorrow. We'll see you soon. Get on the phone and encourage someone to come hang out at the House for a while.

Good evening House of Freedom. What a beautiful day. I hope you had a chance to reflect on CHAPTER ONE. Now without further adew, CHAPTER TWO. I know, don't even say it out loud. It's late.

Just like there is a difference between knowledge and the application of knowledge, there's a difference between hearing and listening. We won't tune our ears to wisdom until being out of tune bothers us. As a musician I tend to be fairly sensitive when it comes to things being in and out of tune. OK I guess that's probably mild. I DON'T LIKE IT, I DON'T LIKE IT ALOT. Sometimes tuning is a tedious process. We must concentrate. There will be no difference when it comes to gaining wisdom.

The movie National Treasure comes to mind when it comes to verse 4. Treasure is much more enjoyed when you've searched for it and finally find it. Or as it has been said, anything worth having is worth working for. If you seek, you will find. Jesus said that himself. He will grant you a treasure of common sense, He will shield you if you walk in integrity, He will guard your path and He will protect you all along the way. Sometimes the hunt seems dangerous but the treasure is worth it.

The last part of Chapter 2 is addressed to men, but the bottom line is stay pure. Don't let immorality lead you down a path of destruction. Let us stay on the path of righteousness.

Write at you tomorrow.

Love You All,

PB

Happy October 1st to everyone. So it begins, our trip through the Book of Proverbs.

This is probably the most practical book in the Old Testament because it teaches wisdom. What is wisdom? Wisdom is "the ability to live life skillfully." Proverbs gives us detailed instructions on how to deal successfully with everyday life in a practical manner. It helps in relating to God, parents, children, neighbors, government and many other life issues.

During the early part of his reign, King Solomon, King David's son, wrote most of this book. Solomon was probably in his middle years when he wrote Proverbs, before his character began to decline. This is the first of three volumes which also include Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs.

The first thing we must understand is knowledge and the application of knowledge are two different things. Knowledge is having the facts. Wisdom is applying those facts to life. Over the next 31 days we will see wisdom as it applies to young people, all people and leaders. I look forward to our journey together.

CHAPTER ONE

Right out of the gate, the purpose is disclosed. Teach people wisdom and discipline, and to help them understand the insights of the wise, and live successfully doing what is right, just and fair (Chapter 1:2-3). Solomon, the third King of Israel was given great wisdom by God. After requesting wisdom, God not only made Solomon wise, but he also gave him great riches and power and an era of peace. This gives me hope that maybe God would even grant us wisdom if we would just ask. Ah, there it is. James 1:5 says that if we need wisdom, we should ask our generous God, and he will give it to us. But when we ask we can not doubt.

So what is the beginning of wisdom? Verse 7 says that the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. So let's not be foolish. Read the Book, learn the Book, and live the Book. The Bible that is.

Chapter one goes on to encourage us to listen to the advice of our parents or those who are providing care for us. We should not let those who are living sinfully entice us into things that are contrary to God's Word. There are many opportunities to make wrong decisions in life. Just keep in mind that every opportunity to make a wrong decision is an opportunity to make a right decision. Those who do evil are only setting traps for themselves that will eventually lead to destruction. Any type of evil or greed robs people of a fulfilling life.

God continually calls out to us to live lives of wisdom. Let us make sure that we listen. If we do, He promises to share His heart with us and make us wise (verse 23). Listening to the voice of the Almighty will bring peace and we will be untroubled by fear of Him. Instead we will stand in awe of Him.

May God richly bless you all this first night of October. Chapter One

As always it was good to see everyone this weekend. Our communion services were awesome. Keep in your hearts the remembrance of what Christ did for each of us. Let's never allow this to become a ritual.
I Corinthians 10 :33 reminds us that we should not just have our best interest in mind. We should be motivated to have the best interest of those around us in mind. Why? Christ teams up with us to show the world around us that their is hope, grace, peace, and love. When we are actively involved in the process, we can expect the Holy Spirit to move on our behalf. Keep being the expression of God you are called to be.

In case you haven't seen our family all together, here is our new pic. Haven't had one in about 7 years. Yes it's true I'm a lucky man.

Yes most of you have heard by now. But in case you haven't, I too am taking a stand against those outrageous gas prices. Here it is, my Honda Metropolitan. 80 to 100 miles to the gallon. With me riding it no more than 80. Join the fight.
Sorry I didn't get my blog up yesterday. I was out of commission. Had to go get a shot in my back and was pretty out of it. Feeling better today, and I should be crusin' by the end of the week. Congrats to Rick Burke from our Osceola campus. He was the winner of my blog challenge.

Remember that the Word of God is of utmost importance when it comes to standing up underneath the weight that the world can sometimes pile on you. Go back and read those verses in Isaiah 40:6-8.

May God Bless you this week.

So this weeks blog is simply this: the first non-relative, non-staff House of Freedom attender that reads this blog and calls me, I will take out to lunch.

The point of this weeks message is simple. We need to listen more than we talk. It's important to hear God's voice in our life. Position yourself to receive from the Lord. You have a destiny, but if you don't follow through when God challenges you, time can slip away.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-5

If you've made a promise to your creator, keep it!! Act quickly. Learn to move when the Holy Spirit prompts you. See ya this weekend.

When you think about it, make sure to give a prayer shout out for Pastor T.J. and Allison and the rest of those who are on vacation. Remember to always lift your church family up and encourage each other. Let the fruits of the Spirit be plentiful in your life.

Together Experiencing A Ministry
Giving is not as much about dollars as it is the heart behind what you give. If you are giving in an offering, give joyfully. If you are giving your time, give joyfully. Whatever you do, do it with all your heart as unto the Lord. Remember, if everyone does what he or she is called to do, we can accomplish anything. This is and has always been a team effort.

This weekends scriptures on giving:

Acts 20:35
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Proverbs 11:24-25
Matthew 6:20-21
Matthew 25:35-45

Let's make a good effort to be the best managers of what God has given us. Don't let debt weigh you down. Debt can be spiritual, physical, and financial. And again, when you give, give joyfully.

How much is enough? That was the question for the weekend. It's important to remember that possessions are not the issue. The important thing is that possessions don't control our lives. If your happiness is based on what you obtain physically, you'll never be happy spiritually. Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. IT'S THE ETERNAL THINGS THAT REALLY MATTER.

PB

Don't forget about the annual campout this Friday and Saturday!!! Get there when you can, party as long as you want.
